5th – first two swifts.

4th  5:30 dawn chorus with F and J.  Highlights were some unidentified bats while still dark and later a blackcap.

6.1.17   Following the leaf collectors, a large flock of redwings descended to feed on the worms left exposed.

July 2016

1 July – no sign of the kestrel chicks this morning. Hopefully they fledged successfully in the week. 5 July – M and R saw a goldcrest in the garden.    

June 2016

29th Two kestrel chicks visible in the church tower – look to be close to fledging. 30th  Hummingbird hawkmoth feeding on the red valerian in the garden.

At last saw the screaming swifts are back – lots in Barnes on 20 May and round Sydenham that week.  Saw tawny mining bee hole on 27 May.
